Psychopomp: Conveying of the SoulPsychopomp work means conveying of the soul to the afterlife, or the place we go when we can no longer be in our physical body and we die. Shamanic practitioners can help convey the soul safely through the technique called psychopomp. In my practice as a holistic veterinarian, I have found much solace and ease of transition during euthanasias by employing this technique. In certain special situations where we have a particularly cognizant pet, who still has enough energy of their own to make a big journey, and with guardians who can be open minded about the process, sometimes we can facilitate psychopomp work from a distance. What this means is that in certain situations where I have been able to meet, work with, and assess the pet and their family, sometimes for the right situations, I can help them pass on their own, peacefully and at home, by doing my psychopomp work distantly. Sometimes I get clear communications and information from the pet--even though I would not call myself an "animal communicator." The objective of this work is to support the pet and family so that if we do not have to, we can help the pet leave their body without chemical euthanasia.
